I am offering a top quality, high resolution scanning service of medium format transparencies (6x4.5cm to 6x18cm) using an Imacon Flextight scanner.  Scans of 35mm film are made with the latest high resolution Konica-Minolta DiMAGE Scan Elite 5400 II.  I make every effort to accommodate your personal requirements and needs.

My scans are accepted by stock agencies such as Alamy, Stockscotland, Ifimages and MyLoupe, and are regularly published in print.

All images are scanned at the highest resolution, 3200dpi for medium format and 5400dpi for 35mm. Each image is individually assessed and basic adjustments are applied to ensure a quality scan. Scratch and dust removal is achieved with Digital ICE on 35mm film (not Kodachrome) using Digital ICE, which does a superb job. However, it will not remove deep scratches and large spots (also, 35mm scans will show part or all of the border). With medium format stock I use Imacon's FlexTouch at a low setting to remove fine dust, but further dust removal will be necessary in Photoshop.

I can scan 35mm film in strips (maximum length is 6), in part or whole, and mounted slides. Medium format must be supplied as individually cut frames.

Scans are supplied as 8bit (16bit incurs an extra charge), Adobe RGB (1998), unsharpened and uncompressed tiff files. Files can be written to CD or DVD as required. CD or DVD media is included in the charges.

PLEASE NOTE - To prevent the risk of damage I clean transparencies with an air blower only. Fingerprints, deep scratches or heavily soiled areas will be evident in the scan. It is in your own best interests to send me clean film.
