PLUS Registry ID

I’m hopeful that the PLUS Registry will be the future for photographers, distributors and image users. I now have a PLUS ID – 01-AA-641. This will be associated with all my images and is mine forever and for all time. I’ve also registered another ID – SCOT-IMAGE, which is interchangeable with the first ID. OK, [...]

Puffins – Fratercula arctica

Atlantic Puffin, Fratercula arctica

Puffins, I just love them. They are great birds to photograph or to just sit back and watch – you can get really close too! To give them their proper title, they are Atlantic Puffins (Fratercula artica) and they can be found in various places around the Scottish coast during their breeding season. On a [...]

So, you want a free image?

The Caledonian Kitchen charity book

I get at least two or three emails most weeks asking for a free image . These requests come from all sorts of people, none of whom I actually know, but all seem to think I am willing to spend my time sending them images and working for free. Not to mention the fact that [...]

The damaged Man in Motion sculpture, Tullibody, Clackmannanshire

**UPDATE** Images of the damaged sculpture have been added – see below and my “Man in Motion” sculpture gallery. Now this is a shame. The sculpture, by Andy Scott, known as “Man in Motion” and situated on the Muirside Roundabout in Tullibody, Clackmannanshire, was hit by a car last night (12/2/2011) with devastating effect. Brian [...]

Personal Challenge Updates

So, having made the big announcement that I’m going to climb 300,000ft of ascent in 2011 (equals 5769ft/week), I had better keep a record of my progress (or lack of, maybe). **UPDATE** On March 7th, I’ve upped the challenge to 1,000ft per day – 365,000ft for the year. It makes the maths easier! Here goes [...]

A personal challenge – 300,000 ft of ascent in 2011

David_Robertson - Photographer

Can I do it? Can I climb 300,000 feet of ascent in 2011? To be honest, I don’t know, but I guess that’s why it’s a challenge. By the way, “climbing” for me means walking uphill – I’m very much a hill-walker, a Munroist indeed! Break it down and it only equals 822 ft per [...]
