Bio
My interest in photography developed over a number of years with an increasing appreciation of the diversity and splendour of the Scottish landscape and its architectural heritage. A combination of stunning subject matter and wonderful light make Scotland a photographer’s paradise.
Now, as a professional, I am a regular supplier of Scottish stock photography to agencies, including StockScotland and Alamy. I also supply images to The National Trust for Scotland and The Travel-Library.
My work has been published in many types of media over the years, including jigsaw puzzles, Christmas cards, calendars, postcards, on magazine covers, corporate bochures, guidebooks, on book covers, educational text books, tourist leaflets and brochures, panel displays, national newspapers and many more. View some recent clients and published work.
With my partner and soul-mate, Sarah Stewart, I am a co-author of two walking guidebooks, Landscapes of Slovenia and Landscapes of the Italian Lakes, both published by Sunflower Books.
I welcome commissions to photograph in Scotland and in worldwide locations.
Aside from photography my main passions in life are hill-walking (only 18 Munros to go!) and cycling. I belong to the Stirling Bike Club, a mixed bunch of friendly individuals, and most Saturday mornings I can be found out on the roads on a club run. Ocassionally, I take a camera along to a local road race - here are a few cycling images.
